How It Works
Accumulate runs one competition at a time. Entries cost £1. There is a single cash prize, it grows for as long as entries are open, and one randomly drawn entry takes the whole thing.
The pot starts at £1,000
Every draw opens with a guaranteed minimum of £1,000 in the pot, before a single entry has been paid for. That figure is not a target or a maximum - it is the floor. If almost nobody enters, £1,000 is still what the winner gets.
50p of every £1 gets added on top
From the moment entries open, half of every entry goes straight onto the pot. Ten thousand entries makes it £6,000. A hundred thousand makes it £51,000. There is no cap and no point at which it stops growing. The number you see on the homepage is the live figure, updated as entries come in. It can occasionally tick down as well as up - a refunded or cancelled entry is taken back out of the count - but the guaranteed £1,000 minimum always holds underneath it.
The other 50p runs the operation: payment fees, tax, the free daily game, marketing, and the platform underneath it.
One winner. No rollover.
When entries close, one entry is drawn and that person takes the entire pot. It is never split, never partially paid, and never rolled over into the next draw. Every draw has a winner, and the next draw starts again at the £1,000 floor.
Entering
Choose how many entries you want and pay at checkout. Every entry costs the same £1 - buying more does not make each one cheaper, it just gives you more entries in the same draw. Your entries appear in your account straight away, each with its own entry number.
There is also a genuine free entry route by post. A postal entry has exactly the same chance of winning as a paid one. See the Free Postal Entry page for the address and the steps.
How the draw actually works
You do not have to take our word for the result. Before entries open, we generate a random 128-bit number - the seed - and publish a cryptographic fingerprint of it. That fingerprint is locked in public before anyone has entered, so the seed cannot be changed afterwards without the fingerprint no longer matching.
When entries close, we publish the seed itself. The winning entry is seed mod total entries - a calculation anyone can repeat with a calculator and the published numbers. Because the seed was fixed before the first entry existed, nobody, including us, could know or steer who it would land on.
What we publish after every draw
- The final jackpot, to the penny
- The total number of entries in the draw
- The winning entry number
- The seed, and the fingerprint published beforehand, so the two can be checked against each other
- Confirmation once the prize has been paid
Getting paid
The prize is cash. Nothing is shipped, and there is no "cash alternative" to argue about - cash is the prize. We contact the winner using the email address on their account, verify who they are, and pay the money to their bank account.
When the next draw runs
Each competition page shows its own closing date and a live countdown. When one draw finishes, the next one opens at the £1,000 floor.
